The unexpected global health crisis -COVID 19- has disrupted the whole world creating inter-related challenges of hunger, malnutrition, and food insecurity creating many problems for the agricultural systems of many countries across the world holding them under enormous stress. The supply chains have been disrupted a lot, consumers are facing problems of accessing even basic food items and paying higher prices for some foods. Export bans and import restrictions create problems of reaching people the needed food items and paying unnecessarily for certain food items. Food security and food sovereignty are under threat.
